Individual Coaching Program available

If you are interested in enrolling or getting more information about this program, please email Teri Clancy at tclancy219@aol.com.

The SJTWEM individual coaching program has been in effect for 8 months now. To date, we have had 100 unemployed and those in career transition receive a coach from this project.

We, as volunteers of the Ministry, know you are going through a rough and stressful time. And we realize that there are too few volunteers to spend time with each of you to talk about it. Because we feel coaching is a service that could be of benefit to you during this transitional time, we are prepared to offer you the following information for services.

Following are some quotes from our ministry clients speaking about the benefits they have received from individual coaching:

“My coach has encouraged me to keep busy, encouraged me to finish my MS degree, address some issues in my life and plan for a job that I would like to have. My stress level has dropped concerning my job search and my communication skills have improved. My life feels more together. I have a plan and am confident that I’ll be getting a job soon. Normally, I wouldn’t take the time for this kind of help, but 30 minutes once a week has done a lot for me.”

“My job search coach has been the light of my week. He has been a challenge to me in a variety of ways, most especially in looking from within myself before looking our and beyond. My coach is a weekly reminder of all that I haven’t already considered. He challenges the part of me that I never knew had to be challenged. It has been a very insightful experience that I never expected through the St. Joseph the Worker organization. It has provided much more than the typical cold search effort that so many of us who unemployed are exposed to every day. These are people who care and give with their hearts as well as their experience and resource. I strongly recommend this experience to all who are searching, unemployed and employed alike.”

“My job coach has caused me to change many perceptions and views about myself and my future. She has given me renewed hope by focusing on what I can do, versus what I’ve been plagued with for the last 19 years, what I can’t do. I have been seeing the same neuro-psychologist for 16 years (as a result of a head injury from a motor vehicle accident). I have been with my coach for 5 months. In those 5 months I went from weekly psychology visits to every other week to once a month and I am getting ready to be released from the psychologist’s care. I see that as extraordinary success. I now see a bright productive future for myself.”

Following is a complete explanation of our individual coaching program, please consider the benefits and join the clients who have been coached and helped in their job search.

The Coaches Training Institute in San Rafael, California, (CTI), www.thecoaches.com, is a coach’s training school that is certified by the International Coaches Federation. As part of the CTI training, in addition to four core classes, a six-month certification program is recommended. The CTI certification program offers beginning coaches a more in depth, experiential coaching training. An integral part of the Certification program is the coaching of real clients and the supervision of this coaching by master certified coaches.

Guidelines:

1. You must commit to 3 months of coaching time.

Your first session is usually an hour to two hours long, and then you will call your coach and speak to him/her over the phone once a week for 30 to 40 minutes. All calls will be to Chicago-land area codes, if at all possible. When you have completed your 3-month commitment, you can choose to continue or not.

2. Your coaching sessions will be tape recorded for supervisory purposes.

This is done so the student coach can be supervised by a master coach on their ability to use coaching technique and principles. Because the session is recorded, you will be asked to give written permission to have your session recorded and to have your name submitted to CTI as a Certification client. When the supervisions are completed the tape is destroyed.

3. You will be matched to your coach on a first come first serve basis.

Neither the Ministry nor CTI will be responsible for the coaching relationship once you are paired with a coach.

4. The fee for this service is $80 plus telephone charges (if applicable).

St. Joseph the Worker Ministry has joined with My Coaches Connection.com (www.mycoachesconnection.com) and the Coaches Training Institute to present you with the opportunity to work with a Certification student coach. In accord with your schedule, you will receive 8 coaching sessions to be done over a 3 month period for only $80. That is just $10 per session.
